Facing Overwhelming Challenges: Finding A Way
I'm grateful you're here.
When the world gives you betrayal, kiss their cheek.
When the world gives you hate, be the love they can't give themselves.
When the world keeps handing you trial after trial, keep the resentment from your heart through tears.
When rigid judgment is given to you, be the grace that person can't imagine.
When criticism is thrown without thoughtfulness, cry out to the One who knows every hair on your head - He knows what it's like to be devalued. Then, cry out to a safe friend who can put arms around you and give you a shoulder to lean on.
When worry takes over and robs your joy, invite it to party with laughter until it loosens up. If worry is stubborn, beat a drum and sing.
When shame's voice causes you to isolate, go out. Listen to the birds. Feel the wind and the sun. Then call a friend and say, "I'm struggling to see the good in me."
You are a sacred being. You matter. Now repeat three times.
